Acceptable Use

Be decent. Be real. Be safe.

Kurukoo is a real marketplace with real people. These rules keep it usable for everyone.

Effective 23 October 2026 · Version 1.0

Not allowed

The short list.

  • Fraud, scams, fake jobs, fake providers, fake reviews or stolen accounts.
  • Weapons, drugs, stolen goods, sexual services, gambling, or anything illegal.
  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, discrimination or unwanted contact.
  • Sharing someone's phone number, address, photos or other private data without permission.
  • Asking for a PIN, OTP, bank password or full card number.
  • Moving a job off Kurukoo to avoid a fee, or paying outside the app to 'release' work.
  • Scraping, probing, bypassing access controls, or reselling your account.
  • Using Kurukoo as an emergency service. Call the emergency service directly.
Customers

Describe it honestly.

Say what the job actually is, where it is and what might make it unsafe. If the job changes, tell the provider before the work starts. Pay as agreed and confirm the work when it is done. Rate the work, not the person's mood, accent or tribe.

Providers

Quote it honestly.

Accept only work you can do and show up when you say you will. Quote the real price, including materials, before work starts. Do not request contact details or a payment method different from the exact route shown in the offer. Respect the customer home and take no photos without permission. If you cannot finish, say so early.

Money and evidence

Real prices, real proof.

Do not fix prices with other providers or agree to split a fee. Do not fabricate proof of work — the checks run against real records, and a fabricated photo or receipt is fraud. Do not buy or trade reviews, and do not open a second account to re-rate a job.

Do not send an unexpected payment to anyone who asks you to release a job or speed up a payout. For direct pay, use only the named provider and exact route shown in the offer; for a provider-backed checkout, rely on its verified status.

Account security

One person, one account.

Keep your phone and any handoff code to yourself. Do not create a second account to get around a suspension, a limit or a block. If someone else uses your account, you are responsible for what they do until you tell us.

Tell us at once if your phone is lost, a code leaks or you see a login you do not recognise. We can freeze the account and preserve the evidence while we check.

Enforcement

A warning, then the door.

We may warn, suspend or close an account for breaking these rules. Where safety is at risk, we act first and explain after. Any payment or dispute record is handled according to its route and the applicable policy. Direct-pay funds remain with the provider; Kurukoo does not keep a balance as punishment.

Suspensions are recorded against the phone number, not just the account, and they are reviewed by a person. If you think we got it wrong, email hello@kurukoo.ng with the account phone number and what happened.
